Akamoku is a type of seaweed known for its extreme vitality. It grows in the shallow offshore waters around Japan. Recent research shows that akamoku, which has a distinctive viscous texture, is surprisingly rich in fucoidan, a polysaccharide that has the ability to boost the immune system, and fucoxanthin, a pigment with anti-obesity effects.
