SANJIKU×Marion Vidal Stole Collection 1 (Stole collection)

Sanjiku is a brand produced by Omiya, a kimono fabric shop in Kyoto, to pass on and share traditional culture. The sanjiku woven material is a special silk cloth created by intricately interweaving threads running in three directions.
It was created some 40 years ago from kumihimo braids crafted from interwoven threads by artisans inspired by Italian fabrics. Using what are said to be the only 2 sanjiku weaving machines in Japan, approximately 480 bobbins placed in a circular line move left and right to weave the cloth. The fabrics are exceptional for the natural shine unique to silk, three-dimensional patterns, and delicate variations of color. Fashion items produced in collaboration with designers active in Europe are garnering attention.
