The Wonder 500™ Certified Product Details
From the Meiji Restoration around 150 years ago, Japan began focusing on the spinning and dyeing industries as driving forces of modernization. The scarf brand marumasu was created by Marumasu, a dyeing company established during that age in 1901. The brand utilizes print techniques inherited from Tokyo Yuzen (which possesses over 300 years of tradition in kimono techniques) and the industrial dyeing techniques of Shibamata, Tokyo (known since long ago for producing meriyasu, the Japanese name for knitted fabrics including knit and jersey). Double-layered gauze is woven at a slow speed with tencel made from eucalyptus. The front is dyed with beautiful colors while the back is plain. The stole has been shown in Paris and New York, and has been well received worldwide.
